About

Music and Arts at Hurley

MUSIC AND ARTS is a community-based Festival in the heart of picturesque Hurley village in Berkshire, which will showcase the best of talent principally from the local area in a series of concerts and presentations over a long weekend in May 2024.

Our mission is to create a platform where people can come together to celebrate music, spoken word, other art forms and community. You will experience wonderful music, entertainment, good food and conviviality.

Music and Arts at Hurley is the result of a meeting of minds between the Rev Tom Etherton, Vicar of the Parish of Burchetts Green, of which Hurley is part, and Jonathan Miall, organist at Hurley, conductor and founder of Cookham’s Cantorum Choir. They are supported by a number of residents from around the local community.

The first Festival in May 2024 will feature concerts, spoken word, a special Festival Eucharist, flower displays, jazz and folk groups and cream teas.

It is envisaged that the Festival will take place every two years and will reach out to an ever broader range of artists and performers.

The organising committee are extremely grateful to the Hurley Village Association for its donation towards the establishment of the Festival; the committee plans to attract further funding from a variety of sources to enable it to become an established event within the community.
